Courtesy of nchnch and Saudrapsmann for this mouse cursor fix. It changes your mouse cursor from a slow, unwieldy software mouse cursor into a snappy, responsive hardware mouse cursor. Basically a requirement if you have any hope of playing the game with mouse+keyboard.

This handy little program will force any window to a specified resolution. This will allow you to play FFXIV in full screen while in windowed mode, letting you alt-tab freely without the client crashing.

If any of you are interested in focusing on DoL/DoH classes, this may be of interest to you. This isn't confirmed information, however it may be worth trying out. There has to be a purpose behind the strobing/lighting effects behind the harnessed elements utilized during crafting; it wouldn't make much sense to have those implemented purely for aesthetic reasons.

This site periodically updates itself every 3 minutes and gives a simple to read chart showing whether a server is online or not. Extremely useful in the beta when Square Enix can't figure out how to keep their servers stable for more than 5 minutes.

A guide to fishing

With the addition of fishing in Phase 3, people have been complaining quite frequently on the beta forums that the entire system is broken and doesn't work. I'm going to have to agree with them; it is extremely clunky and unintuitive. However it is still possible to fish if one follows this guide to a Tee -- I tried it myself and it worked amazingly well.Fishing has been revamped in Open Beta.
